Alan Pearlmutter is an accompanist, singer, composer, arranger, conductor, and professor, currently teaching music at Bristol Community College in Fall River and Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Since 2011 he has been performing imaginative duo-concerts with clarinetist Linda Poland. Alan plays piano, sings while he plays, and accompanies Linda. As singer, Alan has performed as a church soloist and as a choral singer with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, St. Louis Chamber Chorus, and at summer festivals such as the Blossom, Aspen, and Saratoga Choral Festivals. As an accompanist and pianist, Alan has worked as a choir director, vocal coach in schools, and as a church organist. Alan's training includes music degrees from Brooklyn College, CUNY and a doctorate from Baltimore's Peabody Conservatory of Music. Linda Poland has performed as principal clarinetist with the Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet since 2011 and has had extensive orchestral experience as a section clarinetist, most notably with the Albany (NY) and the New Bedford (MA) Symphony Orchestras. Ms. Poland has performed as a substitute clarinetist with the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Symphony NH, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, Portland Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Boston Lyric Opera and the former Opera Company of Boston. Equally proficient with theater and chamber music, she has performed with the New Repertory Theater, the Bay Chamber Orchestra and various wind quintets. Linda Poland received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Maryland in College Park and holds a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. She currently teaches clarinet for the Milton and Newton, Massachusetts public schools, Dedham Country Day School, Milton Academy, and Noble and Greenough School.     Click or tap to view PDF version of this Bio.
